Pachira Beanie - English

Construction:
The hat is knitted from the rib edge towards the top of the hat. Stitches are cast on with Italian cast on and worked in rib. Once the rib is finished, the braided cable pattern described in the pattern, is worked. Towards the top of the hat, decreases are made and the cable pattern is adjusted to the number of stitches. Finally, the stitches are closed off.

Gauge:
Make sure your gauge is correct before casting on, since the size of the finished hat can vary a lot if the gauge is off. Washed and blocked the gauge should be 24 stitches x 26.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm when the braided pattern described under “cables” is worked. This equals one repetition of the pattern measuring 8 cm in width and 3 cm in length. We achieve this gauge on 4 mm needles but find the correct size for you.

Length:
22 cm, when the rib has been folded.

Gauge:
24 stitches x 26,5 row = 10 x 10 cm in the braided pattern.

Needles:
4 mm needles, 3.5 mm can be used for the rib.

Mayflower Easy Care Classic (50 g = 106 m) together with Mayflower Super Kid Silk (25 g = 195 m) or Drops Lima (50 g = 100 m) with Drops Kid Silk (25 g = 200 m) or Filcolana Peruvian (50 g = 100 m) with Filcolana Tilia (25 g = 210 m).
