Salkantay Sweater - English

Construction:
The sweater is knitted from the top down. Stitches are cast on for the back piece, which is knitted flat, while doing increases. Stitches are then picked up along to upper edge of the back, for the left and then the right shoulder. The two shoulder pieces are joined to form the front piece, which is then joined with the back piece to create the body. The body is worked in the round and finished with a double rib. Stitches are picked up along the edge of the neckline and worked in double rib, folded down and knitted into place. Finally, stitches are picked up along the armholes. The sleeves are worked in the round, with decreases at the underside and finished with double ribbing.

Size guide:
The sweater can be knitted in three different sizes: XS-M (M-XL) 2XL-4XL which corresponds to a bust circumference of 75-95 (95-110) 110-140 cm. The circumference of the finished sweater is 109 (127) 145 cm, and we recommend a positive ease between 10 and 35 cm, depending on which fit is preferred
Example: If you measure 90 cm at your widest area, we recommend knitting a size XS-M which will have a positive ease of 19 cm, or size M-XL which will have a positive ease of 37 cm, if a more oversized look I preferred.

Length:
56 (59) 62.5 cm, at the center of the back incl. rib edges.

Gauge:
22 stitches x 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm in stockinette stitch.

Needles:
3.5 and 4 mm circular needles with 40 and 80/100 cm wire.

Yarn suggestion:
Filcolana Pernilla (50 g = 175 m) and Filcolana Tilia (25 g = 210 m)

Amounts:
Base color: 300 (350) 450 g Pernilla and 100-125 (150) 200 g Tilia.
Contrast color: 100 (150) 200 g Pernilla and 25-50 (50) 100 g Tilia.
